A Call to Resistance: Put Your Book Club on the Wall

Alberta has always had a complicated relationship with uncomfortable ideas. And lately, the list of books someone wants you to stop reading keeps getting longer.

We think that's worth pushing back on.

Lit Resistance started because banned books don't ban curiosity — they just make it harder to find good company. This wall exists to fix that. It's where Alberta's rebel readers find each other, compare notes, and remind anyone paying attention that a challenged book is usually just a book that's doing its job.

If your book club is reading the books others want shelved, you belong here.

We're building a directory of clubs across Alberta — in-person, virtual, hybrid, formal, informal, meeting in living rooms or library corners or the back booth of a bar. If you're gathering around books that make people squirm, we want to know about you.

Here's how it works:

Submit your club using the form below. We'll create your listing on the wall — your name, your city, how you meet, and a little about who you are. From there, readers can find you, reach out, or leave a comment. New clubs get added as they come in, so check back often.

This isn't a database. It's a community. There's a difference.

The wall is yours. Fill it.
